SJR 2011 Banquet - January 21, 2012 at NJMP Officers Club

As in previous years, all are welcome. NJRRS, ProIT, and SJR awards will be given out. $25 per person (rest is subsidized by the region). Registration is open!

Our 2011 Banquet will be held January 21st, 2012 at NJMP. See flyer inside the December 2011 At Speed. Our region and sponsors are subsidizing more than half the cost as a thank you to our volunteers, drivers and crew, families and friends, so $25 for venue, menu, and beverages is a great deal indeed. We hope that you all can come out and that we can all enjoy hours of fellowship.

SJR 2012 March Lion Double Driver's School

Registration is now open for the March Lion Double Driver's School. The school opens on Friday March 30 with a mandatory classroom training session. Lots of track time, and great in person training on how to drive a race car. Don't forget, if you haven't already, and are interested, submit a letter to the Board of Directors (any one of them on the contacts page) to apply for the Dave Rose Scholarship.

SJR now has a TV spot, running on QBC in the South Jersey Area! We are promoting the active participation in club racing. We have plans to continue to promote our club and it's activities. If any of this looks interesting to you, contact anyone on our contacts page! We are always happy to welcome fellow car enthusiasts.

You will find lots of information about things that we do.  Please feel free to browse the site.  If you have any questions about the site, contact our webmaster. For questions about individual aspects of what we do, visit our contacts page (by clicking on Contacts above).

The SJR website is designed using CSS. Internet Explorer has some strange quirks when interpreting CSS statements. Therefore, SJR's webmaster highly recommends using FireFox web browser. Driving Impressions

I have found, and tried a site that sells embroidered apparel and accessories. I have several shirts and shorts, and have found the quality to be excellent, and the service great. I would like to share this company with my co-SJR members. When you visit, if you decide to order, please be sure to specify design number 1015459. (That is the SJR logo) If you have any questions, or would like to see any of the items that I have, just email the webmaster. Custom-embroidered logo shirts and apparel by Queensboro
Other regions are free to try this company as well. There is no logo setup fee (at least not for ours), and the minimum order is 4 (not 4 of the same thing, just 4 items!).

Forums - This is a community center for SJR members and friends. Please join us, and let us know what you are doing, how your racing is going, places you have gone, and anything else! There are also some "For Sale" items, and a "Want Ads" section. There are sections for each of our areas (Solo II, Road Racing, Rally, Time Trials, etc). We welcome anyone. Just come and talk about cars!

Solo - Also known as auto crossing, or autox.  A course is laid out in orange cones on a large paved surface (usually a parking lot some where), and each car is timed while on the course.  There are penalties for knocking over cones, or going off course.  The best time wins.  There are many more details, but that is the simple version.  There is no wheel to wheel racing.  Usually no more than 2 cars are on the course at a time, and they are in different places, with no chance to run into each other. This link will have schedules, results and other pertinent information.

Club Racing - Also known as regional or national.  This is wheel to wheel, many cars on course at the same time, great passing moves, adrenaline rush racing.  Classes include everything from Showroom Stock (can't do anything!), to GT1 (full production, tube-frame, big engine monsters!), to Formula Continental (open-wheel, wings, FAST!), to Formula 500(almost a go-kart, but really fast!) This link will have schedules, results, and other pertinent information.

At Speed - This is our regions' monthly newsletter.  The archive is here, as well as the current issue.

Contacts - Here you will find email addresses, and phone numbers for our Board of Directors, and other specialty chiefs.  Feel free to contact any of them with any questions you may have.

Photos - Here, you will find some photos of, and taken by, our members and/or their cars.

Links - Some of our members' favorite  racing related links.
