As always, I recommend Mr.Tire. Ron is now at the Cherry Hill store, but I believe Tom is still at the Woodbury store. Either way, you're dealing with an experienced autocrosser and both of those guys run Honda products, so they could be a great help for you.

x2

my Ron has done most of the work on my STR S2k. Installing suspension, alignments (like 9999billion alignments as I have tried out different specs), maintenance, repairs, brake work, you name it. Real stand up guy, Ron is the head honcho at the Cherry Hill store

Any one know if this Ron is still at the cherry hill Mr. Tire? Does he have a last name?

I tried mill street tire (moorestown) for my last alignment. They agreed to use my numbers but then flaked on my request for 0 toe. The tech was arguing with me about it. I'm sure I could talk them into giving me the numbers i want, but I'd like someone who know what I'm looking for.

Just to add another data point -

Rich from East Coast Precision Tuning recommends http://www.eurotire.com/ , located in fairfield NJ. Might be a hike for you. I got my alignment and corner weighting done there after I got my camber plates installed and they did a good job.

Bummer. I guess I'll add that to my long list of possible rationalizations for buying a porsche

Just called mr tire in cherry hill, no Ron there. The manager seemed pretty willing to set the car up according to my specs. We shall see.

Brian at Mr Tire in Oaklyn said he had no problem with setting alignments to my specs, given that it's possible with the car's setup.

Ron once again works at Woodbury I think. His name on here is Ronnycage I believe. Even after he left the Cherry Hill store, I went back and gave them my specs, told them I had adjustable bolts and they brought the tech out, he talked to me, wrote everything down and did exactly as I wanted. He even came out while they were doing it to tell me how much camber they got, so yeah, they'll definitely set you up right.

An update on Mr. Tire in cherry hill.

I installed a lower eccentric camber bolt (to accommodate the upper eccentric bolt) and set it to the max camber position. My understanding is that the aftermarket bolts are more susceptible to slipping if not in this position.

Anyway. Car had -3 and -2.3 degrees up front when they put it on the rack initially. He played around with the toe and the camber became -2.3 both sides. I was asking for -2.5, but they could not get any more. This is where their knowledge started to break down. One of the techs insisted that I must move the lower bolt to get more camber. I said sure and as he did so, the camber became more positive. They returned the lower bolt to its original position and set the toe. Now both sides were stuck at -2.1 degrees. They best they could do.

After I left the shop I noticed that the upper eccentric bolts are near the MIN camber position. Wish I had noticed this before leaving as they insisted they were set to MAX.

In their defense they did try (2.5 hours in the shop) and they did get the 0 toe I asked for. The assigned tech was inexperienced, but kept a good attitude and listened to what I said (unlike some of the older techs). In the end I paid for a good alignment, albeit not what i requested. I also could tell that they felt I was an idiot and a hack, which may be partially true :)

thoughts?

So to follow up, since i completely forgot about this post until today when ron mentioned it lol i actually went to firestone about 2 days after i posted this and had an alignment done through my buddys work account for about 50 bucks. Needless to say they did an absolute complete ass of a job on the alignment, and never even bothered to look at the back of the car. I had assumed that the camber problem on the drivers side was related to something else so over the course of a few months after getting that alignment at firestone, i put new adjustable UCA's, new lower arms, etc. I took the advice you guys gave on here and made an appointment with ron at woodbury on...tuesday i think it was. Went in this afternoon, had them put the new lower ball joints in, and do an alignment in the car. I was EXTREMELY happy with the service, great bunch of guys over at woodbury, and they did a fantastic job on the alignment! Gonna be recommending them to everyone from here on in for suspension work and tires and such.

Heres some pics of the firestone alignment, and some pics of the mr tire alignment from today. Refer to the top of the papers for location.
