alright, so my car is in SM class because of my upgraded turbo. the company Subtle Solutions is starting to make some nice braces for the forester for good prices. such as a rear trunk brace, rear performance bar, umbrella compartment brace, and a few others.. what i want to know is will these braces bump my car from street mod up to a prepared class? i really like the class im in as of now, and i feel with a lot more seat time ill be competitive with some of the top guys. if i go up another class i think ill be screwed to say the least ahahah. thanks for any help guys!

the guy who posted it said it felt like any slop in his rear diff area went away, and it stiffens up the rear subframe. so i guess lateral links would have a more rigid place to mount to? it probably wouldnt be my first choice at all, but for a good price, why not haha

In some stock classes and SP you can run r comps too. But we have to stay on street tires. So who knows..

There isn't much higher to go other than Mod or Prepared classes, and you'd be by yourself there in any of the local regions. I'm trying to keep the classes populated, so I'd leave it up to the competitors in SM to decide if they minded you being in the class. I enjoy the tight pack that SM usually runs, so I wouldn't be opposed to it.

R comps are permitted in SM. In fact, I'm saving up for a set for next year.

And every Stock and Every SP class... the only classes that dont allow R-comps are ST classes

things get really nuts in P and M classes when you can run full slicks

SP= Street Prepared... the Street means you need DOT approved Tires... R-Comps are DOT approved so your good to go

Street Touring is the only category that prohibits R-Comps

John, bracing is good for maybe 2% of your time if you are really good. The truth is that bracing keeps the body stronger for longer by moving the flex from the chassis to the suspension. That being said, so long you haven't been doing a bunch of rallycross, driving like the police, pretending your last name is Pastrana, or driven a million miles, the chassis, as is, is just fine for doing it's job without a hundred pounds of bracing. Learn to drive the car as is, then work on the suspension. If you want to be more competitive, buy a set of R's and race in H-stock or B-stock. I am about to buy a set of R's over the Christmas break and show who the real PAX king is ;P

Give me a shity suspensioned (excessively prone to oversteer like a Mudstain) car with crazy sticky tires and I am in Hog heaven. Teaches you how to control the car like nothing else.

NOOOOOOOO Don't do that!!! Then I'll have to upgrade!

But yeah I'd agree, spend the money on tires before thinking about the braces...

Okay I was just saying a lot of it is temping because of the pricing haha. I'm getting tar specs eventually but I'm going to drive on these ones until the chord. Which, even though I dont want to, will force me to slow down, Which will help my car placement :)

If you're itching to spend money, you can start tuning the balance of the car with different front and/or rear sway bars.

Already have them. 22mm front and 23mm rear vs stock 20/17. Also have sti rear lateral links which help stiffen things up, and it was needed to upgrade rear swaybar. Oh and i have beefy endlinks all around :)

I'm trying to think of what else I have. Steering rack bushings, The stiffer sti top hats until I can buy camber plates, rear subframe lockdown bolts, and probably some other little things but I can remember haha
