The August 2010 meeting of the Board of Directors for the South Jersey Region of the Sports Car Club of America was held at the home of Brian Heun on Wednesday evening, August 4, 2010. The meeting was called to order by R.E., Jim Tornetta at 8:25 PM.

Present were: Jim Tornetta, Brian Heun, J.D. King, Bob Childress, Meg Meyer, Jim Wakemen, and Sue King. Guest was Val Heun.

Membership - Meg reported that we have 399 paid members to date.

Treasury - Sue reported that we have $1,250.00 in the general account and $21,600.00 in the race account.

Rally - Jim Wakemen reported that we have two rallies that will be held this coming weekend, Saturday - August 7th and Sunday - August 8th. The start point will be at Carolina Blues formerly JG Cooks in Pitman. Registration opens at 10 AM and first car off will be at 11:16 AM.

Solo - Jim Tornetta reported that the truck is ready and he will check as to who will be picking it up and moving it to Sue's. Sue reported that, after 3 days with dealing with the motor vehicle people, she has acquired the new tags and registration for the truck. Discussion centered on pre-event planning for our solo events. It was felt that the BOD should get with the Solo Chairs and give them planning input. Jim will make the contact.

Competition - J.D. reported on the upcoming Pro IT event at NJMP along with the National, Enduro and other activities at Pocono - all on the weekend of August 13, 14 & 15, 2010. We are short on workers for both of the events and will need to do more about getting more folks out to help. The next Race Planning Committee meeting is Monday, August 9th at Uno.

Old Business - Jim Wakemen went over the PBX - Pine Barrens Express - rally and what has occurred so far. He will be getting the permits from the State. The start and end has been lined up and that will be at the Howard Johnson in Toms River. Jim also reported that he has been approached by the Rally America folks for their events that will be held on the Lightning course at NJMP in August, October and November. SCCA road racers are encouraged to run these events.

New Business -We have received a donation of $250 from one of our members who gave specific instructions that it be used to upgrade our hospitality party. The BOD felt that we should use it for our next event at Thunderbolt - Summer Thunder - on August 21 & 22, 2010.

There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 9:15 PM.

Respectfully submitted,

Sue King
